96:1Read, in the name of your Lord, who created.*

*96:1-19 From 96 to 114 is 19 suras. The first revelation (96:1-5) is 19 Arabic words, 76 letters (19×4). The sura consists of 19 verses and 304 Arabic letters (Appendices 1 & 23).
96:2He created man from an embryo.
96:3Read, and your Lord, Most Exalted.
96:4Teaches by means of the pen.
96:5He teaches man what he never knew.
96:6Indeed, the human transgresses.
96:7When he becomes rich.
96:8To your Lord is the ultimate destiny.
96:9Have you seen the one who enjoins.
96:10Others from praying?
96:11Is it not better for him to follow the guidance?
96:12Or advocate righteousness?
96:13If he disbelieves and turns away.
96:14Does he not realize that GOD sees?
96:15Indeed, unless he refrains, we will take him by the forelock.
96:16A forelock that is disbelieving and sinful.
96:17Let him then call on his helpers.
96:18We will call the guardians of Hell.
96:19You shall not obey him; you shall fall prostrate and draw nearer.
